- Anet Matakala is the founder of Nettah Organics
- It's a beauty brand focusing on organic cosmetics
- Demand is growing for her products, but some clients ask for skin lighteners
A young Bloemfontein-based Law student is running a successful organic cosmetics brand literally from her kitchen sink.
Anet Matakala is the founder of Nettah Organics, TimesLIVE reports. She started off by making organic beauty products for herself and some friends, Briefly.co.za learned.
When she saw there was demand for such products, she decided to make money out of her passion.
Anet makes products such as soaps from cinnamon and bath salts from a mixture of coffee and rooibos. Men can also get beard balms on request.
Her family was initially sceptical about her business venture. Fortunately, her mom came on board when she realised how serious Anet was. She even chipped in some startup capital.
Anet said there's strong demand for her products. However, her biggest challenge is that some clients ask for skin lighteners that have harmful chemicals. She said she declines these requests:
Everyone these days wants to be a yellow bone. I wanted people to feel beautiful in their own natural skin.
Nettah Organics has Twitter and Facebook pages where clients can order their preferred products.
