Twitter streets joke: Dr Musa's ID was processed quickly because he looks like Malusi Gigaba

After Dr Musa took to Twitter to gush about the speedy service of the Department of Home Affairs, Twitter poked fun at the television presenter.

On Friday, TV personality Dr Musa took to social media to share how impressed he was with Home Affairs after he his ID was processed quickly.

"Can we just acknowledge the Department of Home affairs. I went to apply for a new passport at a Soweto branch on Monday (whole process took 45 min) and a few days later it’s ready for collection. well done to the staff. Well done @mgigaba," he wrote on Twitter.

The post sparked a hilarious reaction on social media, with tweeps making a connection between the speedy service of Musa's ID and his resemblance to Minister Malusi Gigaba, Briefly.co.za learned.

Zakithi Duma, who goes by the Twitter handle @ZaKaLwandle, wrote: "No they saw your photos and thought it was the bosses application lets make it real quick."

Dr Musa's post and the reactions from tweeps about his and Gigaba's resemblance sparked a reaction from the minister himself.

"We @DrMusaMthombeni, I see from comments on your tweet about the efficiency of some Soweto DHA office that your followers are convinced we are related, even though our complexions are day and night. When are you free to do lunch so we can talk ‘Utatakho’?" Gigaba wrote.
