The video sparked quite the reaction on social media, with tweeps weighing in on the worsening situation in South African schools.

Social media user @ka_hlatshwayo wrote, "What worse is everyone watching is cheering the girl. Not even one is trying to stop her. When majority is wrong, we are doomed."
Another tweep @khozas109 added: "Indeed decisive action must be taken. Commissions of enquiry are a waste of time and resources. The system is known to twiddle it's thumbs whenever the learner is at fault but comes down on the educator who's found transgressing."
"Our government has given this kids too much freedom, parents and teachers are no longer able to descipline this kids because assault cases may be opened against them.We grow up knowing teachers as our second parents, but this days things have changed, kids no longer respect teachers," @JoeMakgapeetsa wrote.
