Businessman Vernon Zuma accused of not paying an R4.2m Bentley

Johannesburg business Vernon Zuma and his wife have been accused of not paying a luxury car they bought.

According to the dealership, the founder of Sozala Energy and his wife have failed to pay for a R4.2 million Bentley Continental GT V8S, which they promised to pay in full by the 15th of December 2017.

Naushad Hassim of NB Car Sales filled an affidavit, which states if Zuma and his wife do not fulfil their parts of the agreement, the car would have to be returned to the dealership, The Citizen reported.

However, the businessman's attorney has responded to the dealership's allegations, adding the couple should argued they should have been allowed to make the payment in March 2018.

The date has since passed and they have requested more time, Briefly.co.za learned.

Zuma has confirmed he is in possession of several Bentleys, however, he refused to admit whether or not one of them belonged to the dealership.

“I haven’t received any court papers, but I have more than one Bentley,” Zuma said
