A video has gone viral on social media, which showed a lion walking on the N4 highway in Mpumalanga.
On Sunday, a video was posted on Latest Sightings - Kruger's Facebook page, which showed a lion walking on the N4 between Marloth Park and Hectorspruit.
Since the video went viral, the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) called on tourist to be careful near the sighting of the wild animal.
Since it was uploaded on Facebook on 23 September, the video gathered over 64k views and a massive reaction from social media users, Briefly.co.za learned.
Melissa Grawe Lemieux wrote, "So trying to understand... animals aren’t able to roam where they want? There’s a fence around the National Park to keep them in?"
Debbie Bird Davies commented, "should be able to dart it. happens in Hoedspruit every now and again and our vet darts them and they are returned home."
Jackie Nel added, "Saw that, shame he looks so lost, hope they manage to dart him and get him back home."
Sue Permom said, "Surely the Park Rangers could have darted him by now and taken him home!!! Come on KNP!!!"
According to one Facebook user, the park found the lion and returned it to its safe sanctuary.
Glen Wilken said, "He has been found and repatriated back to Kruger Safely."
