On Tuesday, the shutdown of Cape Town officially took place and social media was flooded with shocking posts about the protest.

Capetonians fulfilled their promise of shutting down the Mother City and the protest was shared on social media.

According to protesters, their lives have not gotten better since the end of Apartheid, Briefly.co.za learned.
