South Africans were left shook after photographs went viral of a matric learner showing up to his farewell dance in a coffin.
On Friday a photo was shared on Facebook, which showed a young man posing inside a coffin. According to the post, the unidentified grade 12 learner was attending his matric farewell and decided to show up in a coffin.
Briefly.co.za learned the matric learner allegedly attended a farewell in the Eastern Cape.
Social media user Fazel Masekind Edwin Berries shared the post on Facebook, which he captioned: "Yet another Eastern Cape Matric Farewel ...a coffin as his "transport" into the reception. I guess the phrase 'I thought I have seen it all' should never ever be used ... not with them 2000 borns around us."
Needless to say, the photos sparked quite the debate on social media, with South Africans left divided on the issue.
Some were enraged by the matric's decision, while others found it funny.
Thabiso Sechaba Jantjie Makhetha wrote, "But as a parent, how you let your child go out of the house and go make a laughing stalk out of your family? This is plain stupidity, I wanna see his matric results."
Wiiliam Matthews added, "In films actors do get in coffins and there is nothing wrong... Let the young fellow enjoy his farewell in peace, he is not afraid to try something out of the bathroom window."
