- Lebo has worked hard to get to where she is and she is not about to take it for granted
- Having lived in poverty, she know the value of what she has now
- She will never forget her roots and does her best to show her support to the people that stood by her
Recognised by all of Mzansi, Sekgobela is still humble. She has not forgotten where she was before all the fame and fortune was bestowed upon her.
Sekgobela’s music has touched so many hearts globally. Her songs have such amazing healing effect on people. Speaking to TshiaLIVE, she says that the Lord has brought her so far and she will never think too highly of herself.
She went on to share that she came from an impoverished background and there is nothing that will change her, not even fame.
Described how she lived in a shack and sometime even in a mud house, Sekgobela know the struggle. She knows what it is to live on pap and fish oil and on the odd occasion having the “luxury” of having cabbage with her pap.
Briefly.co.za learnt that she stated that now, she can eat meat does not mean she has changed. Even though she has these privileges today, she would never treat anyone less than they are.
Lebo never wants to change and act like a celebrity drunk on fame. Her hard life that she has shared made her the person she is today and she will not change.
After Lebo has performed at big functions, she always takes the time to interact with her fans, taking pictures and chatting with all those that support her. She is a big believer in showing respect and love to those people who stand by her.
The reason she keeps on going back is the ubuntu she has experienced in her life. Those people that have been around her have helped her through her life’s journey. She is a people’s person and will remain that way.
At 37-years-old, Lebo is of the opinion that she has not yet made it. Although her life has been full of exciting events, she will carry on singing the word of God and patiently wait for added blessings!
