Thuso Mbedu is flying the flag high for Mzansi after she announced that she has been nominated for an Emmy for her role in ‘Is’thunzi’.
What makes this nomination even more special, is the fact that this is Thuso’s second nomination in a row.
Mzansi was rooting for the talented actress, but sadly she did not win the award last year but hopefully this will be her year.
ENCA reports that Thuso has been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress and is up against some tough competition, such as Emily Watson, Anna Schudt and Denise Weinberg.
The beauty took to Twitter to announce the big news to her fans, but she admits that she was worried that her followers would think that she is boasting, but instead she has received an overwhelming amount of support from tweeps.
Briefly.co.za previously learned that after she was nominated last year, she began to struggle with landing new film roles, so she went back to acting on the silver screen.
Soon afterwards, she nabbed a role on the popular soapie, ‘Generations: The Legacy’.
The actress, while thankful for the opportunity believes that to get more roles, casting directors are looking at your popularity on social media instead of basing their decisions on pure talent.
