Briefly.co.za gathered that Kaizer Chiefs supporters were initially shell-shocked by the appointment of Solinas who was a relative unknown in South Africa. Many questioned whether he had the credentials needed to take control of a massive club like Kaizer Chiefs.

Sport24.co.za reported that the side’s early results under Solinas seemed to bolster claims that Solinas was not up to the task of coaching in such a high-pressure environment.

Solinas asked fans to give him more time to work with the players. Solinas pointed out that he did not have any pre-season time with the club which had hurt preparations but said he was confident that the side would improve.
