Zahara is on a motivational tour visiting schools weekly. She described her tour as a labour of love. The multi award-winning musician is visiting schools to give motivational talks, as well as entertain the learners.
She said in an interview with Daily Sun she’s not being sponsored for the tour, nor is she receiving any payment.
Her goal is to make today’s children better people, Briefly.co.za learned.
Zahara believes she was lucky to make a successful career from her music, adding she was shocked at the mess some people’s lives were in.
The muso went back to the village a few years ago where she bumped into some familiar faces from her school days: “Their lives are a mess.”
She said some of them are involved in terrible things. Zahar said if someone motivated them, their lives could have been so much different.
After coming to this realisation, Zahara said she’ll do motivational talks her entire ife.
She hopes to teach learner to respect their school uniforms, their teachers and their education: “Everything starts there.”
Themba Thebe, one of the founders of the Sbusiso Leope Education Foundation, said they hope to create future leaders through these motivational talks and tours.
Thebe said the pupils are taught about the important of education, respect for others and how important education is.
