- The EFF seems to be in trouble - there looks to be internal problems at the political party
- According to a political analyst, there is a leadership problem within the Economic Freedom Fighters
- The EFF denies having any troubles and remains confident in its political power
The Economic Freedom Fighters won 25 Parliament seats in the previous elections, but since then they have lost seats and makes one wonder if all is as it seems.
About 11 EFF members of Parliament either relinquished their seats or have resigned because they were going against the party's constitution.
However, the EFF denies that there is anything amiss in their party.
Floyd Shivambu, Chief Whip of the EFF, said the party has only fired 3 people since its birth. He added that only those who did not perform or add value were removed.
Andile Mngxitam, Mpho Ramakatsa and Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala were all kicked out of the party for leaking information about the party's alleged financial trouble and leaking information. They also failed to attend the State of the Nation Address, according to a report by IOL News.
Other EFF members that bailed on the party include Lapologang Tlhaole, Vuyokazi Ketabahle, Emmanuel Mtileni, Pumza Ntobongwana, Magdalene Moonsamy, Modikela Matlhoko, Lucky Twala, and Bernard Joseph.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Ralph Mathekga, political analyst, stated that the EFF's numbers show that there are conflict issues and a leadership problem within the party.
Is this a case of 'where there is smoke, there is a fire'? Is one of the loudest and most visible political parties entering a downward spiral? Only time will tell.
