Sasha Martinengo sacked after he referred to Juju as a 'monkey'

Sasha Martinengo, a Hot91.9fm presenter, was fired after he referred to the Economic Freedom Fighters' leader as a 'monkey'.

Lloyd Madurai, the station's managing director, said Martinengo said "people still listened to this monkey" on air during the breakfast show on Tuesday morning.

According to TimesLIVE, Madurai went on to call the incident "unfortunate" and confirmed Martinengo has since been sacked over the reference to Juju.

"Furthermore, the station hereby issues a public apology to Mr. Malema and deeply regrets any adverse inference that the conduct of the presenter has had," Madurai said.

Briefly.co.za gathered Martinengo has since taken to social media to apologise if he offended anyone but he stood by the comment which got him fired.

However, tweeps did not accepts his excuse or apology.

Social media user @Caswell_Phasha wrote, "The stupid racist has the odesity to justify his racism with a touch of fake feminism,hoping the so called feminists will support his racism since their anger is for black men; U poked wrong ones this time,& u no longer have apartheid laws skewed in yr favor bcos u have pale skin."
Another tweep, @carlolinks, added: "In your attempt to stand by your point, for comparative reasons, in nature, do monkeys thus disrespect female monkeys? Also contextually speaking it is somehow disingenuous to seem relevant and equate pple to monkeys esp in RSA..given our history of oppression, but the reverse is."
