South Africans reacted to the ANC's website, which was shut down following a failure to pay the account.
Recently, the ruling party's website was shut down and the message which was displayed on its home page left social media users in stitches.
According to the message on home page, the ANC's account was suspended due to non-payment to the service provider.
The message sparked quite the debate on Twitter and Briefly.co.za decided to take a look at some of the reactions it gathered.
The DA's Solly Msimanga fired shots at the ANC, adding the people can't trust the ruling party with their tax money.
"How can we trust the ANC with our tax money or delivering services to our people if they can’t even pay to maintain their own websites," Msimanga wrote.
AfriForum's Kallie Kriel also took a shot at the ruling party, writing: "If the #ANC can't manage the http://anc.org.za website, how can we trust them to run the country? They should know that you can't expropriate a website without compensation."
Bo Mbindwane, who goes by the Twitter handle @mbindwane, wrote: "There’s an unsaid message about the website SP overdue invoice my party owes. That is, the so called inherently corrupt ANC doesn’t exist. ANC is like all other South Africans, it has basic debt & when it’s tough for u it’s tough for ANC too."
According to reports, the website was taken down because of an alleged unpaid bill of over R30m.
Tony Cox, @tonycoxmusic, wrote: "I'm fascinated to now how a website costs 30mill! The ANC's website is down due to non-payment of 30mill. WTF! I have website software that could knock up the same site in a couple hours...something very fishy about those charges..."
