Passengers on board a SAA flight were allegedly robbed of their jewellery and cash during a flight from Joburg to Hong Kong.
On Monday, passengers on board a SAA plane complained to the cabin crew that their belongings had gone missing.
It is believed the robberies were the work of an infamous Hong Kong crime syndicate, IOL reported.
Briefly.co.za learned once the Hong Kong police boarded the aircraft, some of the missing belongings turned up on the passenger seats.
SAA spokesman Tlali Tlali confirmed the incident and added two passengers informed the cabin crew their belongings went missing while they were asleep.
One of the complainants pointed out a couple of fellow passengers, who acted suspiciously before the jewellery and cash went missing.
Law enforcement officials searched the "suspicious" passengers but could not find any of the stolen goods on them.
The cops were forced to release all their suspects but the missing goods were recovered on the plane by the cleaning crew after everyone disembarked.
