Kaylee Rough rocked up at her matric farewell in a coffin, complete with a hearse and a smoky entrance. While this entrance may seem macabre, it's not the first of its kind. A young man left his fellows surprised when he showed up in a coffin as his transport.
Kaylee wanted to do this kind of matric farewell since grade 8 but only finally made up her mind earlier this year.
She wanted to something unique and special that would make her happy, and that's how it worked out for her.
The students and onlookers and Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer in Thabazimbi‚ Limpopo enjoyed Kaylee's entrance almost as much as she did.
A video of her entrance was shared on social media and it has since gone viral with more than 290 000 views.
It was something that I wanted to do which I thought was a good way to end my matric year. What I did made me happy and it does not have to make anyone happy except me.
While many people may see her choice and strange and ghastly, the idea of arriving at a matric farewell in a coffin is not a new one.
An Eastern Cape student decided to show up to his matric farewell in a white and red suit and a coffin. His photos were shared on social media.
Briefly.co.za reported that the unidentified grade 12 learner sparked quite the debate on social media with his choice.
Is this a new trend among the youngsters of South Africa?
