It was a tense day for Mourinho as Manchester United welcomed Newcastle to Old Trafford in what many believed would be Mourinho's final game as United boss if he lost.
And the Red Devils could have not asked for a worse start to the fixture as Newcastle pumped two goals through David De Gea in no less than ten minutes.
Manchester United's defense was wide open and as flimsy as ever forcing a frantic Mourinho to make early changes substituting Eric Bailey for Juan Mata.
And it was Mata who came to United's rescue with a brilliantly taken free-kick that gave United hope in the second half.
It was not long before Martial doubled United's comeback and brought back life to the Red Devils with an amazing comeback.
Sanchez was then brought in as Mourinho went down on his knees urging his players on.
And just like that, his prayers were answered as the ex-Arsenal forward rose to the occasion in the dying minutes of the game with an amazing header to slot in the third goal for United.
Old Trafford came alive and the crowd roared with excitement as the Red Devils played in a way that looked just like the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Interestingly, Mourinho's two substitutions paid of as both players scored in the game while Fellaini was instrumental in most of the attacks
Ferguson himself was known for striking at the final hour and it looks like United might have finally found their glorious mojo back.
Moruinho's fate is yet to be known but United firmly backed their managing dismissing rumours he was gonna be fired.
With that last minute performance it is not hard to see why that might be the case.
