Hero of the week: Security guard saves boy (5) from near drowning

A security guard in Durban saved a little boy from drowning at his home in Pinetown on Friday.

Sizwe Zulu, a reactions officer for Blue Security, was called out to Farningham Ridge.

When he arrived on scene, he was greeted by a panicked gogo, who help the 5-year-old boy in her arms looking for help.

According to Andreas Mathios, spokesman for Blue Security, Zulu sprung into action and took the toddler from his gogo. He immediately began performing CPR.

Zulu’s persistence paid off and the little kid was eventually revived. The toddler was then taken to a medical facility close by.

Briefly.co.za gathered that by 3pm on Friday, the toddler was at home where he was now recovering from the traumatic experience.
