Pogba joins Ronaldo in 30 man list for the 2018 Ballon d'Or nominees

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has joined Brazilian football star Neymar and 28 other football stars in the 30 man nominees for the 2018 Ballon d'Or award.

According to the report by UK Sun, the names of these 30 players was announced by the French Football Association but some players will be dropped before the final day.

Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo is the defending winner of this award after scoring 38 goals in 39 games for Real Madrid, Juventus and Portugal so far this year.

Harry Kane who won the golden boot award at the 2018 FIFA World Cup is also included in the list. The Englishman has scored six goals this season for Tottenham.

Frenchman Kylian Mbappe who scored four goals in just 13 minutes in PSG's win over Lyon is also on the list of the 30-man nominees.

Kevin De Bruyne who was outstanding for Manchester City during their charge to victory in the Premier League title race is also included.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Brazilian superstar Neymar surprisingly ruled himself out of the 2018 Ballon d'Or award naming Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe as the three players who have the chance.

Despite not considering himself for the annual award, the Paris-Saint-Germain star also ruled out the possibility of Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric winning it.

Neymar has finished third on two occasions, but doesn't think he has a chance of claiming the highly-coveted award this year.
