A woman from Indiana, United States, visited the grave of her late fiancé on the day they were supposed to have their wedding.

Jessica Padgett made the emotional gesture to honour Kendall Murphy on 29 September, Fox News reports.

Her dreams of spending the rest of her life with Kendall were shattered in November 2017 when an alleged drunk driver hit and killed him.

Kendall was a firefighter and was helping an accident victim when the tragic incident occurred, gathered.

Jessica wore a bridal gown while visiting Kendall's grave. Family and community members accompanied her as she paid tribute to her late fiancé.

Katrina Murphy, Kendall's mom, is the one who came up with the photoshoot idea. Her aim was to help Jessica heal while honouring Kendall at the same time.

Community members wrote Jessica letters of support and handed them over to her on the same day. She also posed with Kendall's firefighting gear, including his uniform, helmet, and boots.

Jessica's photos have touched many people after going viral on Facebook, racking up thousands of reactions and comments. One commenter wrote:
