A 36-year-old mom from Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga got the surprise of her life recently when she gave birth to triplets.

Phumzile Mathebula welcomed her three adorable sons on Friday last week, Daily Sun reports. She said when she went into labour, she was expecting just one baby.

Although she's full of joy, she appealed for help because she and her husband, 41-year-old Andries Mkhombo, are both unemployed.

Phumzile said they survive on social grants, adding:

Raising them will be hard as my husband and I are unemployed. We ask anyone, including government, to assist us with any form of help.

Briefly.co.za learned that the couple named their sons Tebogo, Thabiso and Tumisho. Andries also expressed delight at their bundles of joy.

Dumisani Malamule, a provincial health spokesperson, urged the parents to take their newborns for immunisation immediately.

He also urged them to get in touch with the local offices of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) for possible additional assistance.

In a similar case that Briefly.co.za reported recently, two Limpopo teenagers, 19-year-old Nimrod Magolo and 18-year-old Kholofelo Moholola, also welcomed triplets.
