- Emtee is changing his approach to music as he turns his life around
- The rapper has matured a lot since he started in the rap game and he wants his music to reflect that
- He has been focussing on cleaning up his image since he overcame his struggles with addiction
Emtee has been doing a lot of soul searching lately and he has decided that if he wants to live a better life, then he needs to rethink his music.
The rapper has been out of the public eye for the last month after taking a break to focus on sobering up, but now he is back in the studio to make some more honest music.
Fatherhood has had a huge impact on Emtee and after his recent collapse on stage during a performance, he is cleaning up his image so that he can be a better role model for his kids.
The ‘Roll Up’ hit maker has taken full responsibility for all of his actions and he feels that his music should reflect that, which is what he has hoped to achieve with his latest project, ‘DIY2’.
Briefly.co.za learned that Emtee found the process of working on his new music humbling because he forced himself to take a hard look at his life and to think about what he wants in the future.
According to TimesLIVE, the rapper is most proud of his latest single, ‘Lessons’ which he has dedicated to younger fans.
In the track, Emtee talks about what its like to feel vulnerable, but he wants to encourage his fans to be open about their feelings and to never be too afraid to ask for help if they are going through a tough time.
The music video is quite personal for the rapper as he uses some footage from the performance where he collapsed to show fans that they can always turn their life around, no matter what obstacle is in the way.
