A US flight attendant recently rescued a 14-year-old girl from a human trafficker by leaving her a secret note in the plane's restroom.
Speaking to NBC News, Sheila Fredrick said she had noticed that the girl was disheveled and had greasy hair. In contrast, the man she was travelling with was well-dressed and groomed.
When she tried to start a conversation with the girl, the man kept intervening and stopping them before they could speak any further.
Sheila, 49, then left a note for the girl in the restroom asking if she needed help and indicated to her to go there. The girl saw the note and responded that she indeed needed help.
The concerned flight attendant then informed the pilot of the Alaska Airlines flight that was heading to San Francisco from Seattle, Briefly.co.za learned.
In turn, the pilot notified airport security officials who then arrested the man immediately the flight landed.
Thanks to Sheila's efforts, the unnamed girl was saved from the horrors of human trafficking. Sheila remains in touch with the girl, who is now in college.
