Police officers were called to carry out a welfare check after a woman saw a black man babysitting two white children, LADBible reported.

Briefly.co.za learned the man, Corey Lewis, runs a youth mentoring programme called 'Inspired By Lewis', and he was watching after his friends' children.

According to MailOnline, Lewis refused to let the lady speak to the little girl at Walmart, so she followed them home and called the cops.

Taking to social media, Lewis shared a video of the incident, which he captioned: "This lady from Walmart harassed, followed, & called the cops on me. ALL because I’m black and have 2 white kids with me. #Inspired By Lewis."

The video went viral on Facebook, reaching over 540k views. The footage sparked outrage on social media and people were disgusted by the woman's action.

Alexa Paige commented: "The devil is always working ... you handled this amazingly .. im sorry that you even had to deal with this type of issue... as if people don’t have blended families in 2018 ... and the officer did not have to ask those kids if they were ok that many times if it was really about safety why would he even be asking them shouldn’t he asked for their parents information ??? The little boy looked so terrified of the officer."
