-Delron Buckley feels Siphiwe Tshabalala needs to hit the ground running to avoid the Turkish fans turning on him
-Buckley represented Bafana Bafana and had successful spells at various European clubs
-Tshabalala enjoyed a successful 12 year spell at Kaizer Chiefs
Delron Buckley admitted his surprise at the transfer of Siphiwe Tshabalala from Kaizer Chiefs to BB Erzurumspor in Turkey.
Former Bafana Bafana winger, Buckley, enjoyed successful spells in Cyprus, Switzerland and Germany so had his fair share of European experiences.
Kickoff.com reported that Buckley feels Tshabalala can still do well aged 33 due to the lower demands of the Turkish league. He said “Shabba still has it in his bones, you saw when he played for Chiefs, he can still run 90 minutes, and the Turkish League, to be honest, isn't too hard”.
He went on to add that the Turkish supporters have a potentially volatile nature. Some of Buckley’s former teammates shared their Turkish experiences where new players are often warmly welcomed.
However, some players were forced to duck into cars and fled with unpaid wages when their performances waned.
Tshabalala left the Amakhosi a legend following his incredible 12 year spell. He is yet to find his feet in the new surroundings after only starting 2 matches so far this season.
