The 46th instalment of the American Music Awards (AMAs) took place on Tuesday evening. Celebs poured in and, as expected, pulled out all the stops for their red carpet looks.

The event celebrates American artists for their different contributions and successes. It is definitely one of the calendar musts for any American artist. 2018 has been an incredible year for music, making the AMAs, a highly anticipated event.

The red carpet saw some breath-taking looks, but it also saw some questionable ones. At least the host, Tracee Ellis Ross, was on point with her choices.

The night showcased some of the best and the worst dressed A-listers and Briefly.co.za felt the need to share them with you, just in case you missed it.

The Jaw Droppers:

Cardi B

Over the top is what she does best. We loved this flora number on our girl B.

Jennifer Lopez

Like fine wine, she just gets better with age. J'Lo rocked the pretty pink.

Amber Heard

Flawlessly classy. Amber looked absolutely stunning. As good as gold.

The Face Cringers:

Rita Ora

Seemed like she got her dates wrong. It was a music awards event, not a funeral.

Taylor Swift

She really went all out on the music theme, could have mistaken her for a disco ball.
