Bafana Bafana attacker, Percy Tau, recently made the move to English premiership side, Brighton and Hove Albion, but was subsequently sent out on loan.
His critics have questioned the loan spell at Belgium team, Royale-Union Saint-Gilloise, as it now means 2nd-tier football.
However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns ace disagrees and cites a previous loan spell as a successful example.
Via the SAFA (South African Football Association) website, Tau said “I am happy with this path I have chosen because I have done it before and things worked out in my favour. I once went out on loan to Witbank Spurs and things worked out pretty well for me later on.”
The 24-year-old is currently with the Bafana Bafana squad as they prepare to face Seychelles in 2 AFCON qualifiers. The first will be played at the FNB stadium on Saturday.
He strongly feels the national team has the quality to win all remaining group matches and qualify for the AFCON next year.
Tau boldly said, “The only thing that is left for us to do is win our remaining matches. And that is what this team wants. We want to qualify for next year’s AFCON. We have what it takes to qualify.”
