- Black Coffee went onto British radio to talk about his music
- The DJ was asked to share his favourite tracks of the moment which featured mainly local artists
- He has always supported house music in Mzansi and wants to do what he can to give SA artists the recognition they deserve
Black Coffee is dominating the international house scene and he is taking his fellow artists along the way to the top.
The award winning artist recently appeared on BBC Radio 1Xtra with DJ Target to speak about his music, although he spent more time pushing several other local musos.
The DJ was asked to share some of his favourite songs of the moment which featured the likes of Themba and Lemon & Herb, who needless to say, were thrilled to have their music played for an international audience.
Themba, who is better known as Euphonik, is a close friend of Black Coffee so it’s no surprise that he got a shout out.
The DJ has always been a supporter of local music and he is proud to see how much electronic music has grown in Mzansi over recent years.
Briefly.co.za learned that Black Coffee has always known that Mzansi had the potential to compete abroad, but artists just didn’t have the support or the platforms to get their music heard.
Now that electronic music has kicked off around the world, people are beginning to pay attention to local artists.
According to TimesLIVE, Black Coffee wishes that he could take all of his favourite DJs on tour with him, instead he will do everything to make sure that they get heard around the world and soon everyone will know their names.
At a recent gig across the pond, none other than Drake was spotted at one the ‘Africa Rising’ star’s show and he seemed to be really enjoying the music.
