- Being thankful for the hard times, Zodwa says that they made her who she is today
Zodwa has grown bounds in 2018. It has not always been easy for her, but she never gave up, never letting her struggles define her. Her past made her into what she is today and she is grateful.
Many do not know that Zodwa lost both her parents at the ripe age of 11. Just five years later, she left home at 16 and from that day on, it was her against the world.
There were times when she had absolutely no one, but she is grateful for her struggles as they made her stronger.
After the passing of her parents, Zodwa was raised by her aunt and grandmother. Her aunt never questioned her leaving home at 16. She blindly understood Zodwa’s wishes and supported her unconditionally, reported Times Live.
“Zodwa you left home when you were 16, all these years you have never looked back. But please, if it's hard out there, come back as you are. Uyaphila, you are breathing, we won't ask you questions just come back," is what Zodwa’s aunt said to her.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Zodwa shared one of her most defining moments. The moment when she turned to God and asked him: “Would I die being nothing?"
No matter what life threw at her, Zodwa always found comfort in prayer. One thing she never failed to do was pray and she still prays now. God has been her only constant.
Another person who has had a lasting impact on Zodwa’s life is DJ Tira. She shares the glory of her success with him and stated that, because of the chance he gave her, she is where she is today.
One thing about Zodwa that is extremely inspiring is her will to survive and how she has stayed true to herself through it all.
Zodwa has come a long way and deserves a little recognition for it. Keep pushing on honey, you are moving mountains.
