On Wednesday, Mampintsha took to social media to announce he would be retiring from the music industry.
In a five-part video, Mampintsha announced he would no longer be working in the music industry.
"It's no longer pleasant in this industry... I'm leaving y'all in Babes' hands," he was quoted in one of the videos.
Mampintsha started off his retirement series by explaining how hard it was for him to come to the decision, Briefly.co.za learned.
According to TshisaLIVE, he went on to explain 2018 would be his final year in the industry, adding he did not feel supported.
However, he gave a shoutout to all his fans, whose love he appreciated throughout his career. Mampintsha then said he would be releasing his best music in his last year.
"We can just see that people are not happy anymore man... That time they have sampled me to hell and back and when they see me in the street they don't even greet or acknowledge me. However, that's okay because I've been here long enough to know that's okay," he said in another video.
In the last video, he went on to thank all his loyal fans and added he would leave them in the capable hands of 'queen Babes Wodumo'.
