Donors, who chose to stay unidentified, started a crowdfund for the little girl, seven, who was sexually assaulted in Dros.

The target for the fund is set on R120k, and thus far they received R102 000, with one man reportedly donating over R31 000 at once, Briefly.co.za learned.

According to a report by News24, the donors chose to remain anonymous because they do not want recognition.

The report further stated they just wanted to "come together as concerned citizens and help this young victim whose life has all but been destroyed".

One of the donors said they were aware how traumatising sexual assault must be and they hoped the money could help the little girl, whose life had been destroyed.

The money has originally been raised to help pay for therapy and rehabilitation, but the donors feel the family could use it how they see fit.

"We trust the family will know best what to do to help their daughter under the circumstances, and we will certainly not dictate how the money should be spent," one of the fund's creators said.
