As is the norm these days, when something happens, people turn to social media to discuss it. When South Africans learned about the passing of Pik Botha it was no different.

Botha passed away in his home on Friday morning, his death confirmed by his son, as reported on earlier by Briefly.co.za.

Many South Africans sent condolences to the Botha family, but quite a number of people stated their happiness at Pik's passing.

Some tweeps are convinced this is happening because tweeps are confusing Pik Botha with apartheid era president P.W. Botha.
