The 2 sides face each other on Sunday for the Macufe Cup. The game is played annually and will take place at the Free State Stadium.

This weekend sees another international break for clubs due to the AFCON qualifiers with Bafana Bafana facing Seychelles on Saturday.

The Macufe Cup contest was therefore scheduled as a friendly but Parker feels his team need to put in maximum effort.

At the cup launch, Parker said: “As players we know what will make them happy, so we will do our best to ensure we win the match convincingly as we’ve done in the last years."

This was in reference to the sell-out crowd expected on Sunday. "We need more competitive matches of this nature to ensure that we are fit and combat-ready for the upcoming league engagements,” he went on to add.

The match serves as an excellent opportunity to stay sharp for those not on international duty.

The competitive action resumes the following Sunday for the Amakhosi when they face Black Leopards in the Telkom Cup followed by the big Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.
