Punches fly as motorist and taxi driver standoff over illegal driving

A video has taken social media by storm, which showed a motorist and taxi driver fighting in Fourways, Joburg.

On Thursday morning, a motorist decided to confront a taxi driver after he decided to drive into oncoming traffic.

However, things quickly escalated and the two men started throwing punches at each other. According to TimesLIVE, the incident took place outside Christiaan Diedericks' home and he decided to film the ordeal.

"Fists fly as taxi operator drives into oncoming traffic in Joburg," Multimedia LIVE captioned the video on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za learned the Tshwane metro police condemned motorist driving recklessly after yet another video was posted on social media.

According Pretoria East Rekord, the video showed two taxis driving on the wrong side of the road. The incident resulted in the metro police taking action to catch the taxi drivers in the act.

Metro police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, confirmed they were aware of the issues, which occurs daily.

He added it happens across Pretoria, not just in one spot- however, they have taken action to catch the culprits.

A video was shared on YouTube, which showed the cops looking for taxis on January Masilela N road.
