SA has mixed reactions to EFF's claims about VBS heist and Shivambu

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has broken his party’s silence on its alleged role and the role its deputy leader, Floyd Shivambu, played in the VBS looting scandal.

Malema said he and the EFF had full confidence in Shivambu and his innocence.

Malema said the EFF’s leadership were satisfied with the explanation provided by Shivambu and did not believe the deputy leader was complicit in the looting which took place at VBS.

Malema said Shivambu has surrendered his bank statements to the party and the EFF could not find a single cent which Shivambu had received from VBS.

Briefly.co.za reported that Malema and the EFF leadership held a media briefing at the party’s Braamfontein headquarters earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

The briefing came nearly a week after the release of Advocate Terry Motau’s explosive forensic report into the VBS banking scandal.
