A 22-year-old man saw how Joe Slovo residents struggled to get access to medicine, so got an idea to help them.
Thembekile Mahintsho, an accounting student, opened a medicine store in the area in Milnerton and now resident no longer need to travel long distances to get medicine.
According to a report by the Daily Sun, Mangethe’s Medi-Store offers over-the-counter medicine as well as traditional medicines.
Briefly.co.za learned Mahintsho helps people around the clock, since he is the only one who offers the service in the area.
Mahintsho added he buys his stock from the same suppliers as other pharmacies, but he does not charge the high prices.
As for his future plans, the 22-year-old student said he wanted to open a medi-store in every township.
South Africans were inspired by Mahintsho's story and they took to social media to share their views.
Kamvelihle Mcoseli wrote, "I am so inspired and motivated by you. There is so much I want to do in the Corporate world I just dont know where to start I am sure a plan will come up. This is your calling and purpose. Just continue excelling."
