7 celebs show their support for Cheryl Zondi during the #OmotosoTrial

Cheryl Zondi has been in the media a lot this week after she took to the stand to testify Nigerian Pastor Omotoso whom she has accused of sexually assaulting her for two years when she was only 14.

The pastor as well as his two accomplices, Lusanda Selani and Zukiswa Sitho, are currently facing 97 charges of sexual assault and human trafficking which have been pressed against them by female members of Omotoso’s congregation.

The accused have reportedly committed these crimes between 2009 and 2017, but police only managed to arrest Omotoso in April last year

TimesLIVE reports that Cheryl was recently been torn to pieces by Defence lawyer Peter Daubermann during cross-examination, but he was called to order numerous times for his insensitive line of questioning.

Since her cross-examination, Cheryl has received an outpouring of messages from South Africans who have shown their support for her during the trial.

Briefly.co.za learned that amongst these supporters, a number of prominent celebs have also stepped forward to commend Cheryl on her bravery and resolution.

According to ZAlebs, public figures such as Khanya Mkangisa, Anele Mdoda and Dineo Moeketsi are just some of the people who have sent messages of encouragement to Cheryl.
