In an interview, Olwethu said he was first fascinated by magic during a school show when he was a child. However, his parents associated it with witchcraft.

He managed to convince them otherwise. When he was 12, he attended the College of Magic, a nonprofit organisation in Cape Town that uses magic for social empowerment.

Olwethu hasn't looked back since graduating from the college in 2009. He credited his success to sheer hard work and passion for magic.

The talented magician now performs his tricks to kids in Khayelithsa and teaches them as well. He has already inspired some of them to study magic:

Magic is just an art and a skill. It's something that everyone can do. I just love teaching kids because the way kids react to tricks, everything, it's amazing to me.
