A person's matric farewell is one of the most special moments ever. Pupils make sure they have the perfect outfit, car and date.
However, one young man decided his matric farewell is not just about him, so he did something very special.
Heinrich Brandt warmed the hearts of South Africans after his matric farewell story was shared on social media.
Brandt recently had his matric farewell at Tsumeb Gymnasium in Namibia. However, instead of taking a girlfriend, the 20-year-old man took his sister, Riana, who lives with Down Syndrome.
Maroela Media reported Brandt said he knew his 17-year-old sister would never have the opportunity to attend her own matric farewell.
"So, I wanted to share my special day with her," he added.
Brandt said he did not ask his sister to join him, they simply told her she was going to dance with her brother and wear a beautiful dress, Briefly.co.za learned.
"She was very excited and she could even pick out her own dress," the young man added.
According to Brandt, his sister knew exactly how she wanted her dress and a kind lady offered to make it for her for free.
Brandt and his sister had a wonderful time at the dance. He added they have been close to each other since they were young, but they fight like any other siblings.
