Loyiso MacDonald: I'm an atheist so I don't believe in holy books

Popular actor Loyiso MacDonald has surprised some of his fans on Twitter by declaring that he is an atheist.

Loyiso, who stars as Kagiso Khoza on Mzansi Magic's The Queen, made the revelation during a debate on the infamous Omotoso trial on Twitter.

He started off by quoting Anele Mxakaza, one of Omotoso's alleged victims. She said Omotoso made her believe that she could only have a relationship with God through him.

A Twitter user then questioned why people would believe such things when "the Bible is there for guidance." It was at this point that Loyiso said he didn't believe in holy books:

I'm an atheist so I don't believe in holy books.We believe all sorts of things, remove the book altogether and start thinking for yourself I say, takes more work but is ultimately rewarding.

Loyiso's revelation startled his fans and he immediately sought to clarify that he doesn't hate religion:

Nevertheless, the actor got some support from some of his fans.
