His delighted grandma, Lydia Truter or affectionately known as Ouma Lilly, is seen in the video inspecting the car and praising Jeremeo for buying it.
In fact, Ouma Lilly was so happy once the ride started that she planted a loving kiss on Jeremeo's cheek.
The video has gone viral and has been watched over 104,000 times so far. It has also racked up close to 2,000 shares, over 300 comments, and 2,800 reactions.
Speaking to News24, Jeremeo said although Ouma Lilly has has eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, he's the one who shares the closest bond with her.
He explained that she has always encouraged him to work hard for a new car after his previous one was stolen a few years ago:
It was a very difficult time and she felt my pain. Over the years, she would always ask if I ever found the bakkie and when I would be able to get a new vehicle. When it finally happened, she was the first person I wanted to share it with.
