Police praised after killing suspects who executed Soweto security guards

The South African Police Force confirmed that the two men, who killed two security officers in Soweto, have been killed in a shootout in KwaZulu-Natal.

On Monday, the duo were killed in a Clermont shack, just west of Durban, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo confirmed.

Naidoo said when officers tried to arrest 24-year-old Lindokuhle Cebekhulu and 26-year-old Mbuyiselo Mthonti‚ they resisted. Both were then shot dead.

"There are no reports of any police officers being injured at this stage."

It was recently reported that Cebekhulu and Mthonti killed two security guards, Eric Ngobese and Boykie Moyo, from 24/7 Security Services near Maponya Mall in Soweto.

The duo opened fire on the guards through the window on the driver’s side‚ seemingly killing him instantly. The passenger was killed when the bullets ring out on the other side of the car.

The killers then took the guards' guns.

The gunmen didnt see the dash cam, which captured their faces and visible tattoos.
