The DA has been accused by the Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, of having ulterior reasons for its application to set aside her report on the Estina Dairy Farm.
Mkhwebane's council argued in the Pretoria High Court on Wednesday that the Democratic Alliance was politically motivated in its application.
According to Eyewitness News, the DA said Mkhwebane failed in her constitutional duties by ignoring viral evidence.
Briefly.co.za learned that the opposition party wants to force its preferred results of the probe on Mkhwebane, and is abusing the courts to do so, Advocate Vuyani Ngalwana told the court.
Ngalwana said the DA is using the court to act as its conduit.
According to the DA, the Public Protector's discoveries were not duly reasoned or justified. The party believed her findings copy the discoveries made by Treasury's accountant general.
Also, the DA said it believed the corrective action doesn't and can't be expected to undo the prejudice, impropriety, illegal enrichment and corruption linked to the project.
The court reserved judgement in the matter.
