From street kid to designer: Ntsikelelo Solani slays fashion in Hillbrow container

Ntsikelelo Solani had to overcome several challenges in life to succeed, but he pushed through and today he has his own fashion company.

Solani lived on the streets but he managed to overcome all his struggles to succeed. According to Beautiful News, Solani moved from PE to Joburg to make it big.

But, he only had his dreams- no money, no place to stay and no job. Luckily, the fashion designer refused to be knocked down and he worked hard to succeed.

Briefly.co.za learned he went on to study beadwork, design, and leathercraft, skills he used to create amazing designs- including his signature leather bow tie.

“With education I was able to launch my own brand, Shaka Xhosa,” he said.

Today, Solani uses a container in Hillbrow as his studio and his designs have made their way to London.

A video of his inspirational story was shared on Facebook on Thursday.
