Fani Tshidiso Mmolawa Jnr is just 21 years old, but he's already saving thousands of lives on South African roads through his business.
He is the founder of ITRAFFIC, a company that manufactures and installs safety roller barriers on roads, SowetanLive reports. The barriers protect motorists from harm.
In an interview, Fani said the technology is from South Korea. When he learned about it, he seized on the opportunity to make local roads safer.
Fani was born and raised in Pretoria in a family of entrepreneurs, Briefly.co.za gathered. He explained:
To be quite honest, I think I was born to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is all I know, and I love the financial freedom and the concept of getting exactly what you put in out
He added that entrepreneurship can be challenging because of the huge responsibilities one carries. However, he relishes it.
The young businessman has partnered with experts from abroad to develop IPOCKET, an innovation that speeds up pothole repairs during the rainy season.
Fani's business has created nine jobs and he's looking to expand it even further. He's especially keen to get more youths on board.
He said ITRAFFIC is also committed to the conservation of the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
