The hero who saved a stranded woman and her daughter along the N1 highway recently is set to get a R20,000 Christmas bonus.
As Briefly.co.za reported, Kat Stott's car broke down on the busy highway, nearly causing multiple accidents.
As she waited for her insurance company to send help, Godfrey Makhubela used his e-Toll tow truck to get her car to a much safer spot on the side of the highway.
According to Good Things Guy, Kat subsequently started an online fundraising drive to get Godfrey a R20,000 Christmas bonus as well as a smartphone.
The public has responded positively to Kat's fundraiser and she has already raised R17,000 so far. A Good Samaritan even offered Godfrey a free smartphone.
Well-wishers can donate on a buckabuddy.co.za page Kat has created, which can be found here. In an update, Kat praised Godfrey and thanked well-wishers for their generosity:
This man who displays such integrity and inherent kindness is going to have the most wonderful Christmas to remember in 2018! And it is all thank to YOU!
