Heavy K has decided the time has come for him to shed some pounds. He wants to be fitter so he can give his best in his music. But he doesn't plan to become super skinny and change his name to 'Light K'.
Heavy K has been cyber bullied over his weight since he became famous, but that's not why he's now hitting the gym.
He doesn't want cyber bullies or trolls to think they got to him, he wants to be the best he can be, that's all.
The "drumboss" noticed that he didn't have the energy or health that he used to enjoy and it affected his performances.
To be honest I made the decision after I realised that it's getting difficult to handle my schedule or all my gigs. I used to blitz through them (performances) but it was getting increasingly difficult to keep up. By the time I would get to the last one, I would feel like I can't breathe properly.
According to a report by TimesLIVE, Heavy K says he doesn't want to wait until he gets a stroke or sees his health deteriorate drastically before doing something about it.
He is motivated by his desire to be the best artist, husband and father he could possibly be. He doesn't really care if people say it's because of the comments on social media.
I am not going to be ashamed about making that decision because I think people on social media are going to say, 'Oh we trolled Heavy K until he couldn't take it anymore and he joined a gym!'
Heavy K says he wants to aim for a body like that of DJ Fresh. He added that he loves his body but just needs to be healthier.
I just need to get healthier and fix the tummy, mkhaba must fall.
We're happy that Heavy K has taken this decision, and wish him the best on his journey to a healthier body.
