Gigaba admits being blackmailed over kinky tape of him and his wife

- Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba revealed he and his wife made a private video and it has been stolen from his phone

- The thief has been blackmailing the minister but he has not given in to the demands

- An investigation into the matter is ongoing

South Africa's Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba made it public that he is the victim of blackmail.

Gigaba took to social media to reveal that a video of sexual nature of him and his wife is being shared in political circles.

He added that he has been targeted for blackmail because of this video.

A report by News24 confirms that Gigaba said the video was stolen from him and that he learned of this just before he became Finance Minister early in 2017.

Gigaba has since reported the blackmail to the police and has refused to give in to the blackmailer's attempts at extortion.

The Minister went on to apologise to South Africa and his family for any embarrassment and pain the video could cause.

Gigaba appointed a public relations company to handle this delicate matter on behalf of his family.

An investigation into the identity of the blackmailer is ongoing.
