Minister Malusi Gigaba has been going through a difficult time after an alleged blackmailer released a video of a sexual nature of him.

However, throughout the entire ordeal his wife's unwavering support helped to keep him strong. So, decided to take a look at the woman behind the Home Affairs Minister.

1. Early life and family

Norma was born on 9 April 1975, which means she is currently 43-years-old. She is not an only child and one of her siblings is famous singer Nandi Mngoma.

2. Career

Norma has made a name for herself as an exceptional IT specialist and it led to the minister's wife being dubbed Mrs Gigabyte.

According to the South African, it is because of her own successes that she hates being called a 'trophy wife'.

After the video of her husband leaked, however, tweeps wanted to know why she did not use her IT skills to track down the alleged hacker.

3. Marriage to Malusi Gigaba

Norma became Mrs Gigaba in a wedding ceremony in 2014. She and the former Finance Minister share two children together named Nkanyezi and Mvelo.

4. Meet Norma Gigaba, the feminist

As stated above, Norma does not want to be viewed as a trophy wife. She is a woman who believes in her own successes and that of other ladies.

According to reports, Norma spends her time fighting for women's rights. Apart from her passion to help other women, the 43-year-old also helps children.

She is the founder of The Norma Gigaba Foundation which helps underprivileged children receive a quality education.

5. The luxury life

Just by looking at Norma's social media pages, it is evident she lives a lavish lifestyle. Stylish clothes and trips around the world are just a couple of luxuries she gets to enjoy.

Although she makes a lot of cash on her own, it has been revealed some of her luxuries are footed by South African tax payers.

As reported previously, Gigaba was slammed for using R800 000 on wife’s international ‘shopping trips’.
