Vusi Nova has recently come under fire for his smash hit single, ‘As’phelelanga’ after fans noticed that he had not included any Maskandi artists in the song’s lyrics.
The muso wrote the song as a tribute to all of the music icons that have passed away in Mzansi, but fans were outraged to know that he had left out an entire genre.
They began putting pressure on Vusi and he has finally agreed to change the song to mention the additional names.
In the track, the muso pays homage to artists such as Mandoza, Brenda Fassie, Ray Phiri and many more, but sadly no one from the Maskandi scene.
According to Daily Sun, Vusi has also asked Mthandeni ‘Igcokamelisha’ Manqele to appear on the remix and together, they will honour artists such as Bhekumuzi Luthuli, Mtshengiseni Gcwensa and more.
Mthandeni announced that he will be working with Vusi, but he will not reveal any further details until they have had a chance to discuss everything.
Briefly.co.za previously learned that ‘As’phelelanga’ was the first single to be released from Vusi’s fourth album, ‘Manyan-Yan’ and the song become an instant hit in Mzansi.
